March Project Of The Month - Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson

In a month littered with phenomenal projects we had to deploy selfish behaviour when allocating our 'Project Of The Month', which resulted in 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' by talented 'TrueMendous' taking the crown.

Upon our first listen, it was evident that 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' possessed the symptoms of a viral album, however, it was only when we dove in with high levels of focus that we realised it actually did tick every box. This album absolutely has the potential to cause a scene.

Consisting of 17 tracks, 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' is extensive from a track, but also time perspective; in a world densely populated with sub three minute tracks, the average song on 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' is 4.44, with one segment exceeding the nine minute mark ('Selfish Behaviour'). This approach is aligned with TrueMendous' against the grain ethos.

Not only is 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' comprehensive in length, it is also diverse, meaning there is truly something for everyone on this album. By chance you find yourself in a mood which is begging to be fed by a funky anthem - crank your speakers up and digest 'Browkeee', or 'Mood Ring'; maybe you are feeling rebellious - project 'Cause a Scene' and be prepared to trash your room; or perhaps you are in a political state of mind - pause everything in your life and play 'Emmett Till'. You get the vivid picture, no matter who you are, 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' is a must listen.

When it comes to TrueMendous' performance on 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson', it is nothing short of genius. One would probably be right to best recognise TrueMendous for her fire-filled flows and precise, delectable delivery, which is absolutely apparent on 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson', however, a stone that is easily left unturned is her stupendous, yet subtle wordplay.

You don't wanna miss some of the perplexing phrases woven into the 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' tracks, so to give you a head start, we have detailed a couple of our favourite pieces of wordplay below:

  • "Why’d you rather ‘Mac’ than build foundations with your wife?" (Y)

  • "Give me profit in bulk, I just want a mill-in-my-house like I’m Bart’s friend" (You Don't Like Me Because)

As detailed above, 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' is diverse with the intention of providing each listener with three or four tracks that they just cannot get enough of. With this in mind, we want to give our individual track ratings, but for the record, music is subjective, and 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' is incredibly subjective.

Track Of The Project - 'Selfish Behaviour' (Ft Daliso)

As always seems to be the case when we are reviewing an album, picking a righteous winner of 'Track Of The Project' has been the hardest part of writing this article, but for us 'Selfish Behaviour' stands out.

To make a track that exceeds nine minutes is admirable, but to make a track that exceeds nine minutes and captivates the listener for every single second is almost unheard of. This is precisely the case on 'Selfish Behaviour'.

Overall, there are not many 17 track strong projects that we could dissect and come out with an average song rating of 4.2 / 5 - this is testament to TrueMendous' phenomenal skill and authenticity. With this in mind, it goes without saying that we throughly recommend you listen to 'Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson' NOW!
